At the Pan African International Womans Day WAGAKI MWANGI gave a Presentation for PAWLO on Desertification  and present and future the effects of the loss of valuable land, as well as on the strategies possible to improve situations. A Keen discussion on different topics, as Climate Change, Migration, Renewable Energies, solar energy and Diaspora Communication Strategies for Global Learning and Diaspora Support for the Motherland set in. The event took place in Potsdam on the 30th and 31st of July 2010.

PAWLO has become a member of the Civil Organisation’s network for Brandenburg called Verbund Entwicklungspolitischer Nichtregierungsorganisationen (VENRO.) Uwe Pruefer from VENRO gave an overview on the goels and strategies of the network. The audience had many questions and remarks on why German civil organisations structural discriminate against black ngos and their grant applications, the structural differences of interest of ngos’from the north and ngo’s from the south. His answer was that he cannot perform miracles and that espeacially the area of the former DDR is not commonly used to the sight of black people, but that the participation of PAWLO in the VENRO is a 1st step in the right direction.

PAWLO BACKGROUND
Der 7. Pan Afrikanische Kongress fand vom 3. Bis zum 8. April 1994 in Kampala, Uganda statt.
